Educational Foundation
"Promoting
excellence in the insurance industry
by underwriting the education
of current and future employees."
Founded
by the National Association of
Insurance Women
(International)
leadership in 1992 and incorporated
as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit
in 1993, the NAIW Education
Foundation
is governed by a volunteer Board of
Directors.
Scholarships are awarded in two categories, College
and Professional.
College Scholarships: Offered
to students majoring or minoring in Insurance,
Risk
Management, or Actuarial Science,
awarded annually in June.
Professional Scholarship:
Awarded three times
each year, in October, February
and June. The number of scholarship applicants
has grown substantially over the
past
nine years. Scholars do not
have to be NAIW members, can be male
or
female, and do not need
to be currently employed.
Professional
scholars can pursue courses, designations
or degrees. This helps unemployed
insurance professionals re-train
themselves
to fill available positions, including
those positions available at your company.
